Last Thursday evening was an honor to host our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. Twenty-six guests arrived with great anticipation of hearing a man, held in high honor, speak respectfully and humbly. Emotions stirred and tear drops fell, as every part of the soul was intrigued with words that touched the heart. Prior to his moments of captivation, recipes from the White House collection of Mary Todd Lincoln, the First Lady, were prepared by Ms. Sherry, owner & operator of Pleasant Thymes Tea Room & Fine-Dining. Virginia Ham, Chicken Fricassee, Roasted Potatoes & Carrots, Shredded Carrot/Apple/Cabbage Salad, Green Apple & Walnut Salad, Ginger Crackers, Stone-Age Bread made of Ground Oats, Barley, and Rye with Whiskey Soaked Raisins, Almond Cake, and Pecan Pie. It was an evening to remember!
